This is not a stock photo. This is that one house that everyone stops for.

I was working in Athens then. Every morning metro, headset, city noise. And every weekend - ferry. To find the white that is whiter than Athens concrete. The blue that is softer than Athens sky.

This house in Paros? I found it at 2pm. Worst light for photos. But bougainvillea didn't care. She was showing off anyway. That pink is not pink - it's 50 shades of shouting. Against white that burns your eyes and blue doors that look like they were painted yesterday and 100 years ago at the same time.

I took this because the owner wasn't home and the flowers were. And because when you work in Athens, you learn to spot the houses that still have time.

Now it's on a suitcase. Because some doors you want to take with you.

This suitcase? She knows the difference between a house and a home. Between tourist photos and the one where you waited 10 minutes for the wind to stop.
