Oia, Santorini, 2020. Ghost town. Pandemic. No tourists feeding him, no kids chasing him. Just him, me, and 300 white steps down to the caldera. He owned that staircase. I was just a guest with a camera.

I was living in Athens then, and Oia was silent. No donkeys, no selfie sticks, just cats and wind. This one sat there like he was guarding the Aegean. Look at him - he knows exactly where the sea ends and the sky starts. He knows this is his island.

I took this photo because he didn't move when I walked past. In normal summer, you'd never get this shot - 100 people on those stairs. But in ghost Oia, it was just us.

Now he's on a suitcase. Because some locals you never forget.

This suitcase? She gets it. She knows the difference between tourist Santorini and real Santorini. The one that smells like sun-baked stones and cat naps. The white that is too white to be clean. The blue that is 400 meters of nothing but sea.

For the girls who stop for cats, not for cocktails. Who take the stairs when everyone takes the cable car. Who travel for the quiet moments, not the loud ones.
